After passing eCXD exam, was looking for a course to help in testing applications by reverse-engineering the application. Binary reverse engineering is performed mostly if source code for a software is unavailable. This process is sometimes termed reverse code engineering (source wikipedia). Understanding binaries becomes important in use-cases like analyzing malware, to understand whats happening under the cover.
I ended up finalizing on MAP(Malware analysis professional) course from elearnSecurity(mostly because of the quality of courses from elearnSecurity). They have discounts on courses from time to time, and I ended up getting a 35% discount for the course. A part of the MAP course is REP(Reverse engineering professional) which comes fully free with the course. So basically you get two courses for the price of one.
The most exciting part for me was to learn the skills from, a world-renowned professional reverse engineer kyREcon. In this blog, will try covering at a high level what the course covers, pre-requisites, review, and exam.
